Ali DeFoy

Loves a hot chocolate, so much so that she thinks of herself as a bit of a connoisseur.

Ali started her career at 14 years old with the BBC, graduated from The Dance School of Scotland & The Italia Academy of Theatre Arts before being offered her dream job anchoring a live TV for both the UK and the USA. Over the last 15 years she’s presented more than 30,000 hours of live and pre-recorded television and radio shows, most recently waking up Dundee and Perth as the Breakfast Presenter on Wave FM as well as presenting for The Open. Ali is delighted to be moving back home to present her first love – football & sport!

Born in Paisley, Ali is delighted to be moving back home to Glasgow & the west this year for Go Radio. “I couldn’t miss the opportunity to be a part of Go Radio. With such a great team behind the station, the amazing vision and talented line up, I had to be involved”.

Q&A

If I wasn't working at Go Radio I'd be...
Doing Yoga, playing golf and watching the football (probably testing out more hot chocolate with my new machine)

My celebrity crush is...
I don't have one. It was exciting to meet Justin Timberlake & Tiger Woods but I wouldn't say that I had a crush on either of them.

I have a fear of...
Spiders. I once broke a toilet jumping on top of it to get away from one.

I bet you didn't know I...
Used to play the trombone, not too badly to be fair.

My favourite movie is...
I love a good Disney film but I'm more into musicals. "Avenue Q" is probably one of my favourites.

The ultimate TV show at the moment is...
I'm loving both 'The Morning Show' on AppleTV+ and 'Scandal' on Amazon Prime.

The song that I can listen to on repeat and never tire of is...
'Oh When The Saints' and '500 Miles' by The Proclaimers.

I hate it when...
People are rude. Just be nice to each other.

My favourite place to eat in Glasgow & the West is...
Papa Macs in Johnstone. It does a great breakfast! I can't wait to find new favourite places. I've been down south and across Tayside & Angus for the past 15 years so any recommendations would be very welcome.

My favourite place to hang out on weekends is...
St Mirren Park or out adventuring with my hiking boots.
